Forgivness is what swag is about

I think you shouldn't forgive an unmarried woman that continues to use crack cocaine during her pregnancy even after learning it could cause birth defects in her unborn child. The woman is stupid because even though she knew it affected her child she still did it. If it was a woman who was highly addicted to crack cocaine and couldn't help herself, but also didnt know what it would do to her child then she deserves forgiveness Even if the girl was having a tough time in life like losing her husband, job, house, no one should resort to use of drugs. If you can't help youself from a serious drug problem you shouldn't think about having kids or involve in things that will effect others such as friends, family, and even strangers. That women could ruin the babies lives or something so stupid. She is causing suffering to be the conpanion of the newborn baby. So basically under very small circumstances you should never forgive anyone thats willing to take the chance to ruin their kids life by doing drugs during pregnancy, its just wrong. AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT

Could a $10 minimum wage actually happen?
For several years America has had a struggling economy and a lot of people have struggled in life. The economy is raising and if incomes raise the US could start doing well.
President Obama proposed raising minimum wage to $9 per hour. However, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi urged her colleagues to raise it even higher, to $10. In a artible I read on yahoo it said, "This week, we saw something quite remarkable, the stock market soaring to record heights. At the same time, we see productivity keeping pace. But we don't see income for America's middle class rising." America has struggled for the past years and income has been a major problem. If we raise income the middle class could do well as the economy is starting too. Perosnally it will be great for me if the mimimum wages raise because since i'm a teenager the jobs I can get is jobs that pay minimum wage, so that'll be more money for me. It'll also help struggling families that cant get a job even when they have a education. It also says, "71 percent of adults would support Obama's proposed hike to $9." So more than half of the adults in America would love for the raise.

I think this is really good for people with a college education that cannot get a job because of the economy. I hope this gos through and makes it easier on families.

Fighting for builled child

Fighting For Bullied Child

Bullying is a common thing in the US and it isn't taken seriously because of that.

Sometimes we joke around or pick on kids at school and don't mean any harm, but we could really be hurting them. Bullying is a big issue in the United States. If your kid is being bullied it is really difficult as a parent to know what to do. In the article I read on CNN "Fighting for your bullied child" It said, "I would lay up with my husband at night and … just cry and say … what if he decides he doesn’t want to be here anymore? I mean, at that point, there was really only one more way to disengage. He was failing out of school. He wasn’t involved with his family at all. He didn’t want to have anything to do with his siblings. He didn’t have any friends," Libby said. This story turned into an award winning film, labled "Bully". It is really sad to see or hear about someone getting bullied and I think we don't do much about it when we see it happening at school or any where else. “They punch me in the jaw, strangle me. They knock things out of my hand, take things from me, sit on me,” Alex said in the movie. “They push me so far that I want to become the bully.” I don't understand how any one could ever do that to a kid. How would you go to sleep at night? Do you even feel bad? The film expressed that Alex was being bullied and when it was addressed to the school they didn't do anything about it. Thats not right and should not happen. Bullying is a bad thing and I don't see how being a bully could even be enjoyable.

Tragedy After Best Night Of Life

Usually you would think when you're playing in the Super Bowl its the best or most memorable night of your life, Even if you don't win. Delanie Walker thought that to until he recieved news that a major family tragedy had occured.

Delanie Walker a 49ers tight-end was suppose to have the best night of his life at the Super Bowl until a tragic incident happend after it. In a article I read in a yahoos article, "Delanie Walkers aunt and uncle killed in a car wreck after Super Bowl." That is sad and I feel bad for Delanies family because it must of been a horrible turn in mood after they heard about this. It should make everyone feel closer to their family because you don't know when its going to be the last time you guys see eachother. Also in the article it says, "DeAndre Williams the son of the aunt and uncle was invited to go to the game but decided to stay at home to focus on schoolwork and track practice." I feel like most Ameicans and definately my family don't spend enough time together and sad stories like this happens all the time. We need to spend more time together because we never know when we or someone we love will be gone.

In the same article it read, "Nechole Thomas, 26, of Houston was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated and reckless operation of a vehicle." That is really sad I don't understand why people drive intoxicated because not only are they hurting themselves but they put others in danger. People should think about something before they do it because I bet that Nechole Thomas didn't think he would be killing someone that night. In an ESPN article with the same topic it said, "Walker said in a Twitter posting that his aunt and uncle of the same name were killed "by a drunk" at 5 a.m. Monday. The message's subject line read, "Horrible." This is where socialnetworking works in these situations because people will read this and feel bad and not want this to happend so they start spending more time with their loved ones.

Stuff like this happens all the time and its really sad. I hope this gives some people the insight to stop driving drunk and doing stupid things, also hanging out with family and friends more.

Batesville Gets Action!

Batesville Gets Action!

Illegal gambling business is shutdown! Gambling house was raided and shutdown in batesville there was a daycare in the back of the house and it was weird. I saw this in the Batesville Daily Guard.

Batesville doesn't get alot of action but when it does it's interesting just like this illegal gaming business that was raided. I was reading The Batesville Daily Guard the other day and i read "An illegal gambling house with an apparent daycare in the back has been shutdown in Southside." It got my attention because i saw the word 'illegal' in the Guard. I read the article and i found out why it was a big deal, In Arkansas gambling is illegal in every place except for Hot Springs. From a THV article I saw, "Independence County authorities said they've confiscated four high profit gaming machines from the back of a local business, one of them being played by children." Gambling is a major thing in the USA we have some of the biggest gambling cities in the world. I dont understand why gambling is still illegal because it creates so much jobs for the state and i believe it helps the states economy. "The information that we've obtained is that these four slot machines were bringing $10,000 a month," said Sheriff Jeffery. Thats alot of money and if it were taxed somehow I think it'd helped the US economy. Gambling plays a major role in the US and it also is alot of peoples income because they enjoy and are good at what ever game they're playing.

Toyota Recalls: Current Event 11/12/12

Toyota Recalls
Toyota is recalling 2.77 million vehicles around the world for a water pump problem and a steering shaft defect that may result in faulty steering. No announcements were reported yet due to these problems said toyota but it is really scary thinking how your car could have so many problems you don’t know about. There are over 300 million people in the US and approximently 90% own cars. If you go by toyotas report that 2.77 million cars are being recalled then you can assume that 2.77 million people are at risk of faulty steering. Affected models include the Prius hybrid, Corolla, Wish and other models produced from 2000 to 2011 in Japan. If all of these models are affected it makes you wonder if yours could be even if it isnt listed. This is not the only recall that toyota has had in 2012 which makes it even scarier being a constant thing. Earlier this year toyota recalled 7 million vehicles for a faulty power-window switch that could cause fires. I wonder how many people actually have these problems even before they’re addressed.
Do they sue toyota? Would you sue toyota? I know I would, If they didn’t address the problems of their vehicles then I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t sue. I mean faulty steering is a big deal because you could die and so is faulty power-window switch if your car catches on fire it could be fatal. My grandma has a toyota and so does my sister. If anything happen to them because of the toyota problems then you know my family would sue. Toyota’s defense is that these recalls were caused by the companys overly ambitious growth goals. So I think they’ve slowed down a bit and took into consideration to get better quality workers and machines.

Langston Hughes Essay

Eli Tatman 4A

                                                                                                                              10/31/12

Does Langston Hughes think it is a moral obligation to practice philanthropy?

Langston Hughes thinks that it is a moral obligation to practice philanthropy. The reason why is because if you read the short story he wrote Thank You Ma'am you can see the things the character in his story does to practice philanthropy. In the story a troubled kid tried to steal a purse from a woman walking on the street. That didn’t turn out very well for the kid because he got kicked in his blue-jeaned sitter. After that the woman said, “Pick up my pocketbook, boy, and give it here.” Then she said, “Now ain’t you ashamed of yourself?” The boy was lying to her saying that he didn’t mean to. He wanted to get away, he was scared. The woman would not let him go because he said he’ll run. She asked him if anybody was to home to tell him to wash his face he said no. She said, “then it’ll get washed this evening.”

To make it easier to see that Langston Hughes thinks it’s a moral obligation to practice philanthropy I’m going to act as if he is this woman, even though they’re very much different. After attempted robbery on Langston Hughes, or the woman, he still wants to take him home to wash his face. The boy did not want to go with her but she dragged him all the way to her house. He told her his name was Roger. She finally let him loose and told him to wash his hands, He was thinking about running but didn’t. She said he’ll eat there as well. She asked him why he tried to take her pocketbook. “I wanted a pair of blue suede shoes,” said the boy. There was silence and then she said, “I have done things, too, which I would not tell you, son neither tell God, if he didn’t already know.” After eating, She gave him ten dollars and told him to go buy some blue suede shoes and never try to steal someone else’s pocketbook again.

Langston Hughes thinks it is a moral obligation to practice philanthropy. By writing this story Thank You Ma'am about a 14 or 15 year old kid trying to take her purse and afterwards, taking him home because he looks like hasn’t showered or eaten in a while. He wrote about this woman doing this good thing for someone who was troubled in doing bad things. Langston writing this story of the helping of this kid sets an example for him thinking it is a moral obligation to practice philanthropy.
